The Australian Lesbian Medical Association (ALMA) was founded in 1999 for lesbian doctors, lesbian medical students and their partners.
ALMA provides a supportive network to its members through advocacy, mentoring and social activities.
- ALMA’s activities include an annual conference, social, community and advocacy activities, an email group and a private Facebook group for members and one for students.
- ALMA advances the visibility of lesbian doctors and lesbian health issues.
- ALMA administers the Lesbian Health Research Grant which supports research and education in relation to lesbian, bisexual & same-sex attracted women’s health.
- ALMA is a member of the National LGBTI Health Alliance.
